People are so offended when someone tells them," You act like a two year old, or an old fart."
So what is it about age that we are so offended about? With age comes knowledge and experience learned throughout the years. Years well earned and lived. Being a young adult I have learned to live with other peoples opinions of their view of my age. The way I look is that of a child making it impossible for others to take me seriously. On the other hand My mindset is that of someone older than my true age. Other aren't so lucky they look much older but when maturity and brains come into play they open their mouth and remove all doubt. Other times you here of people talking of the requirements they would want in another partner or companion. They want someone older or younger than their true age. Mostly the desire for someone younger is to make the person feel younger themselves. As long as it is in the legal limits the idea is not that big of deal. Same goes for someone interested in someone older they choose this person most likely for the persons mindset and maturity and rarely for their money. All in all it's love we're looking at right what does it matter how many years apart a couple is or how close? I am not saying to go out and find the youngest or oldest person you can get with but if love strikes you go for it don't hold back. Not that I would just run in with my eyes wide shut but hey everyone should take a look around if you're alone it's your own fault you pass people everyday without looking into their eyes with a smile not giving yourself the chance to meet someone. so for all those singles they should get out there and keep an open mind and eye. Never know you could just pass your next soul mate everyday and not know it.
Hey Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI like your post. I have a great age gap in my marriage to my husband. 15 years! Yikes right. I met him in the military we worked together, same rank, we just hit it off. It is easy to relate to someone when you have a lot in common no matter how old they are.
Hello Leslie,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting post in deed. For me though, And mind you, I make no excuses, however I have never been lucky in love. I meet many people each day, yet the love of my life has not yet appeared. I believe myself to be a great catch; smart, witt, funny, talented in certain areas, but yet no angel. I have heafrd people say ... "you will meet someone when your seeking the least " I do not know if this holds true. I meet many women each day and I don't know someone more laid back then me. Not laid back like a dead fish floating in the water, but laid back in the sense that I am confident in all that I do, an always smiling and happy, and can get along with anyone. I think it may be that 51 is just a difficult time in a man's life. Well, trust me on this though ... I do not lose sleep over it, this is for sure, but it would be nice to meet that special someone and just enjoy times spent together.
